Some 1,100 runners put their best feet forward on Lake Chabot Road Sunday morning for the big annual "Run to the Lake" race that raises money for Eden's Trauma Center.
There was also a big free Health Expo featuring expired medication and mercury thermometer drop off, free health screenings, music freebies and refreshment. The race was either a 5K or 10K for runners and a "kids dash" for the little ones.
The event was touted as a farewell race in honor of the old Eden Hospital building that has served Castro Valley and beyond since 1954.
